The lawsuit was filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. According to the publication, the lawsuit states that the company used a photograph of Dua Lipa's face on various television models sold throughout the United States.
The lawsuit notes that the product packaging was "designed to improperly capitalize on Ms. Lipa's hard-earned success in promoting and selling Samsung products."
The singer's legal team also accuses the company of copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and misappropriation of her likeness.
According to available data, Dua Lipa first learned about the use of her image on Samsung packaging in June 2025. Following this, social media users began actively posting photos of the TV boxes and commenting on them as the "Dua Lipa TV box."
One user wrote: "I'll buy this TV just because Dua Lipa is on it." Another comment included the phrase: "If you need to sell something, just put a picture of Dua Lipa on it."
According to the singer's representatives, Samsung allegedly ignored "repeated demands" to stop using her image.
The company has not yet publicly commented on the filed lawsuit.
