As RAM shortages turn PC building from an expensive hobby into an unaffordable luxury, this pair of new AMD processors will come as a pleasant surprise to many, the publication writes. At Computex 2026, the company announced two gamer-oriented chips with 3D V-Cache — each priced below $350.
The first is the Ryzen 7 7700X3D, a chip with 3D V-Cache for the AM5 platform. The company has promised to support AM5 until 2029. The processor features a 120W TDP, 8 cores/16 threads, 104MB of cache, and a maximum boost frequency of 4.5 GHz. This should be a reliable way to get X3D gaming performance without high costs, the publication notes.
The new Ryzen 7 7700X3D will go on sale on July 16 at a price of $329, the publication indicates.
AMD also has a pleasant surprise for those still using AM4-based builds: the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, originally discontinued in 2024, is returning. The company is positioning the relaunch as a 10th Anniversary Edition dedicated to the decade-long existence of the AM4 platform.
The 5800X3D was AMD's first consumer processor with 3D V-Cache. The 8-core, 16-thread chip features 100MB of cache, a 4.5 GHz boost frequency, and a 105W TDP.
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition will go on sale on June 25 at a price of $349, the publication writes.
