A man was detained at the border with Moldova who was trying to leave Ukraine with false documents about his hearing and speech impairments.

Border guards together with law enforcement officers detained a man near the border with Romania who provided documents of a person with hearing and speech impairments of the second disability group. But the border guards found interesting information on his phone that refuted the documents provided by the man. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service, according to UNN.

According to the SBGSU, border guards of the Mohyliv-Podilskyi detachment, together with representatives of the National Police, stopped a car for inspection near the border with Moldova, driven by a 37-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man who provided documents of a person with hearing and speech impairments of the second disability group.

“However, the check revealed that the certificates had signs of forgery: there were no stamps on the photos and stamps of an unidentified sample. In addition, his voice messages were found in the man's phone, which finally refuted the attempts to simulate speech impediments. Finally, the man started talking and during the conversation admitted that he planned to illegally cross the border with forged documents. It was also established that the driver organized a “full package of services” for 3500 euros - the production of forged documents and delivery of the man to the border,” the statement said.

During the inspection of the Volkswagen, law enforcement officers found seals, clichés and forms with the imprints of the territorial center for recruitment and social support of one of the regions, which were issued in the name of men of military age.

The man was brought to administrative liability under Art. 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses “Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine”, and the driver of the car was served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border”.
