Russian wrestlers refused to participate in the 2024 Olympics as neutral athletes after the IOC failed to include many of their team leaders on the approved list.
Russian wrestlers, who were admitted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to the 2024 Olympic Games as "neutral athletes," refused to participate. This is reported by Farnce24, according to UNN.

It is noted that the Federation made the decision because the list of eligible players published by the IOC did not include "many leaders of the national team".
After the IOC inspections, 10 Russian wrestlers were granted admission to the 2024 Olympics. They were to compete in a neutral status. One wrestler immediately declined the invitation, while the other nine confirmed it. These were to be four representatives in freestyle wrestling, three in women's wrestling, and two in Greco-Roman wrestling.
However, on the last day, the Russians changed their mind. They argued that the list of approved athletes was intended to "undermine the unity of the team," so they refused the license.
Thus, the Olympic licenses will be redistributed according to the tournaments where Russians won passes. Most likely, Ukraine will win three more licenses to the Olympics in wrestling as part of the redistribution - two in freestyle and one in women's wrestling.

The IOC has allowed 25 "neutral" athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the 2024 Olympics. In particular, 10 out of 16 Russian wrestlers were allowed to participate.
