Kyiv exposes illegal "detective agency" that spied on Ukrainians and sold information from state databases; one of the suspects is served with a notice of suspicion
In Kyiv, a so-called "detective agency" whose members were illegally spying on people was exposed. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, UNN reports.
Details
According to the investigation, members of the "detective agency" were spying on Ukrainian citizens for money, using special technical means and illegally obtaining information from state databases.
The agency's services also included the provision of information from state and law enforcement databases, the prosecutor's office said.
The cost of the services of "detectives" to provide information from databases (ARMOR, RACS, NAIS, ARKAN) was from 600 USD.
At the same time, unidentified persons reportedly abused their official position and checked the right people against the available databases, and then sold the information to the "detective".
One of the defendants in the case has already been notified of suspicion of committing crimes under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 362 and Part 2 of Article 361-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a measure of restraint in the form of detention has been chosen.
We would like to remind you that in October, a similar "detective agency" was exposed in Kyiv, which illegally spied on citizens and provided information from closed databases for $200.
