The court recovered UAH 139 million from a contractor who had deposited funds received for the construction of the subway in the capital.
The company received money for the construction of the subway, but put the money on a deposit account. The court recovered 139 million hryvnias in favor of the capital, which the contractor earned in this way. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
Details
The investigation established that the commercial structure, in violation of the law, placed funds received from the capital's budget for the construction of the subway from the Syrets station to the Vynohradar residential area on deposit accounts in a bank. Thus, it earned interest in the amount of over UAH 139 million.
As a result of a new trial, the decision of the Kyiv Commercial Court of 24.04.2024 fully satisfied the prosecutor's claim and recovered more than UAH 139 million from the contractor to the capital's budget

The prosecutor's office said that the case has been ongoing since October 2021. At that time, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office appealed to the Kyiv City Commercial Court to recover the funds from the contractor in favor of the territorial community of the capital represented by the Kyiv City Council.
Then the court fully satisfied the prosecutor's claim to recover UAH 139 million from the capital's budget. In year, the Northern Court of Appeal upheld the decision, but the Supreme Court sent the case back for a new trial.
