In the Volyn region, three men aged 27, 35, and 38 died as a result of the detonation of a World War II-era shell.

In the village of Kolpytiv, Volodymyr district, Volyn region, three people exploded in the forest as a result of the detonation of a World War II-era shell. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Volyn region, UNN reports .

In the evening, a resident of the district reported to the duty unit of the police activity sector No. 1 (Lokachi village) that her husband's two brothers, together with a fellow villager, had gone into the forest with a metal detector and never returned,

While investigating the report, police found three local residents dead in the woods near the village of Kolpytiv. The victims were 27, 35 and 38 years old. Preliminarily, the Volyn residents died as a result of a detonation of a World War II-era shell. About fifty more such munitions were found at the site of the tragedy. Measures are currently being taken to remove them.

Investigators registered the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 115, Part 2, Clause 1 (with an additional note "accident") of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. As part of the pre-trial investigation, police will establish all the circumstances of the tragedy.
