Soldiers of the 97th Separate Mechanized Battalion are raising funds for the treatment of their service dog Leo, who received shrapnel wounds and a fractured femur during an enemy attack while performing a combat mission.

Soldiers of the 97th separate mechanized battalion of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade are asking for help to treat their service dog Leo, who was wounded during the shelling. This was reported by UNN with reference to a statement by the soldiers of the 97th separate mechanized battalion  .

As a result of the enemy shelling, our faithful and reliable four-legged companion Leo got shrapnel wounds. He was diagnosed with a fractured femur. His entire body is covered with small shrapnel

The soldiers say that Leo, together with his owner, call sign "Moose," performed combat missions. He was trained to search for explosive devices.

At present, the medics are doing everything possible to ensure that our comrade recovers and continues to help the battalion fight the enemy. The next surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.
