7 regions partially without power due to Russian attacks and bad weather; people are urged to conserve energy amid the heat

Due to attacks by the Russian Federation and bad weather, some consumers in 6 and 3 regions, respectively, were left without electricity; no outage schedules are currently expected. Ukrainians were urged to consume electricity as sparingly as possible in the regions where the greatest heat is forecast—particularly the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, the Ministry of Energy and NEC Ukrenergo reported on Wednesday, UNN writes.

Details

As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy facilities, some consumers in Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts are temporarily without electricity

- the statement said.

Restoration work is continuing wherever the security situation permits. Energy workers are working to restore power to Ukrainians' homes as quickly as possible.

"Due to bad weather, 78 settlements in Zhytomyr, Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts remain without electricity," the Ministry of Energy said.

Repair crews are working on restoration.

"No restrictions are forecast for today. We ask you to use electricity sparingly throughout the day, whenever possible. This helps reduce the load on the system," the ministry said.

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption has increased. Today, August 5, as of 09:30, it was 2% higher than at the same time the previous day—Tuesday. The reason is the onset of hot weather throughout Ukraine, which is prompting consumers to actively use air conditioners. Yesterday, August 4, the daily consumption peak was recorded in the evening. It was 5.1% higher than the peak on the previous working day—Monday, August 3.

Given the weather conditions, we ask you to consume electricity as sparingly as possible in the regions where the greatest heat is forecast—particularly the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances throughout the day—from 7:00 to 23:00
