New Russian attacks left residents in three regions without electricity, the situation in Kyiv and the region is difficult, and the operation of heat generation has been partially stabilized, generators are used at critical facilities, there are power outages in Poltava region due to bad weather, there are emergency shutdowns, the Ministry of Energy reported on Thursday, writes UNN.
The situation in Ukraine's energy system remains difficult. Repair crews of energy workers and heat and power engineers are working continuously to eliminate the consequences of constant Russian attacks on our energy infrastructure.
Enemy shelling
As a result of the night enemy attack, consumers in Odesa, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions were de-energized in the morning.
Emergency recovery work has begun wherever the security situation allows.
"The situation in Kyiv and the region remains difficult. More than 160 brigades are working to restore light and heat in the capital. The operation of heat generation has been partially stabilized, generators are used at critical facilities, and State Emergency Service aid points have been deployed," the Ministry of Energy noted.
Schedules, restrictions and emergency shutdowns
As indicated, distribution system operators in Kyiv and the region continue to apply network restrictions. As in previous weeks, network restrictions also remain in Odesa region.
"In most regions, due to equipment overload in conditions of high consumption, emergency shutdowns are forced to be applied. The return to predicted hourly shutdown schedules will occur after the situation in the energy system stabilizes," the Ministry of Energy reported.
Consequences of bad weather
"Due to difficult weather conditions, 11 settlements in Poltava region have been de-energized, repair crews are working to restore electricity supply," the report says.
Due to massive attacks by the Russian Federation, a state of emergency is in effect in Ukraine's energy system.
The Ministry of Energy thanked all services that are working around the clock in extremely difficult conditions to restore light and heat to the homes of Ukrainians.
