Ukraine has accumulated more than 10 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities for the heating season

Naftogaz reported accumulating more than 10 bcm of gas in Ukrainian storage facilities as of July 22, 2024. The company plans to reach 13.2 bcm by November 1 and increased gas production by 8% in the first half of 2024.

More than 10 billion cubic meters of gas have already been accumulated in Ukrainian underground storage facilities, Naftogaz Group is actively preparing for the heating season, the company said on Monday, UNN reports.

"As of July 22, 2024, the volume of gas stored in underground gas storage facilities is more than 10 billion cubic meters. Since the beginning of the season, Ukraine has pumped more than 2.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas," Naftogaz said.

"The pace of gas accumulation allows us to optimistically forecast the fulfillment of the plan, namely 13.2 bcm by November 1. I am grateful to all the specialists who, despite the war, are doing their job efficiently," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz Group.

According to the company, in the first half of 2024, Naftogaz Group increased gas production by 8% compared to the same period last year.
