Russia struck Ukraine with missiles, munitions, and 217 drones. Air defense destroyed or suppressed 191 targets; hits were recorded at 41 locations.
During the night of August 22, Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic and air-launched missiles, loitering munitions, and 217 attack drones. At the same time, Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 191 enemy targets. The main areas targeted were the Kyiv and Odesa regions. This is reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, UNN reports.

During the night of August 22 (from 18:00 on August 21), the enemy attacked Ukraine with missiles that approach their targets along a ballistic trajectory—Iskander-M and S-400 missiles—as well as three Kh-31P/Kh-59 air-launched missiles from the Kursk, Bryansk, and Belgorod regions and from the airspace over the waters of the Black Sea. It also used "Banderol" loitering munitions and 217 Shahed-type attack UAVs (more than 50 of them jet-powered), Gerbera UAVs, and "Parody"-type decoy drones launched from the following directions: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk — Russian Federation; the temporarily occupied Donetsk; and Hvardiiske — the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea
According to the agency, the main areas targeted were the Kyiv and Odesa regions. The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense forces had shot down/suppressed three Kh-31P/Kh-59 air-launched missiles, six "Banderol" loitering munitions, as well as 182 enemy UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types and drones of other types in the north, south, east, and center of the country
At the same time, impacts by Russian air attack weapons were recorded at 41 locations. At another 12 locations, the fall of downed targets and their fragments was recorded.
