Budapest must comply with the Statute of the International Criminal Court if Russian President Vladimir Putin enters the country to meet with his American counterpart Donald Trump. Although the Hungarian authorities announced their withdrawal from the court's jurisdiction, this decision will only take effect in April 2026.
As the publication writes, the European Commission welcomed the prospect of a meeting between Trump and Putin.
"Like any meeting that will advance the process of achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine," he said.
