Ukraine is nearing the signing of a major security agreement with the United States that will be a strong security guarantee alongside agreements with Nordic countries such as Sweden and Norway in May-June, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Ukraine is approaching an important security agreement with the United States. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Brazilian journalists, according to a UNN correspondent .

We have already signed nine (security) agreements. We are approaching an important treaty with the United States, and after we pass the Congress...I believe that we will still push through and pass it positively. Then we will move on to this powerful agreement with the United States

He noted that each of the bilateral agreements includes support for Ukraine.

This is not just about military support. It's about humanitarian aspects, reconstruction, financial support, energy support

Zelenskyy believes that in May Ukraine will have a strong result on security guarantees.

We are approaching the point where our partners from the Baltic countries will do so. I think we can have this result with one of the countries in April. I think we can have a strong result on security guarantees in May. We have several treaties. I think in May-June we will come to agreements not only with the United States, but we will come to agreements with the Nordic countries, and there is strong support there. We are preparing for the Swedes and Norway

On April 17, it was reported that the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, held a working meeting on the preparation of a security agreement with the United States. The participants discussed the main elements of the future document and the algorithm of actions immediately after the US Congress decides on military assistance to Ukraine.

On April 19, the U.S. House of Representatives held a procedural vote on four foreign aid bills, including one on Ukraine, which allows them to be brought to the floor of the House later.

House Speaker Mike Johnson says that the US aid bill for Ukraine will be put to a vote on Saturday, April 20 in the evening.

In total , Ukraine has already signed nine security agreements with the UK, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, and Latvia.
