President Zelenskyy signs a decree imposing sanctions against 86 legal entities and 7 individuals, including foreign nationals, for a period of 3 to 10 years.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on 86 legal entities and seven individuals, including foreign nationals. This was reported by UNN with reference to the text of the decree.

"To enact the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of April 4, 2024 "On the Application of Personal Special Economic and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions)," the decree says.

According to the annexes to the NSDC decision, restrictions for three years were imposed on six individuals: Vadym Alperin, Oleksandr Yerimitsuts, Yuriy Kushnir, Orest Adamcho, Viktor Sherman and Andriy Popov. In addition, a citizen of the Russian Federation and Armenia, Araik Amirkhanyan, was added to the sanctions list. He was restricted for 10 years. 

Sanctions were also imposed on 73 legal entities registered in government-controlled territory of Ukraine. Two more are registered in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region , and three in Sevastopol. Another six legal entities  are registered in the territory of the Russian Federation and two in China. 

Restrictive measures against these legal entities were imposed for three and ten years.

The Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Security Service and the National Bank of Ukraine, should ensure control over the implementation and monitoring of the effectiveness of sanctions. And the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States of America and other countries about the sanctions and raise the issue of introducing similar restrictive measures.
