Four traitors who fought against Ukrainian troops in eastern and southern Ukraine as part of Russian occupation groups were sentenced to 15 years in prison for high treason, participation in a terrorist group, and aiding the Russian armed forces.
Thanks to the Security Service's evidence base, four more traitors who fought against the Defense Forces in eastern and southern Ukraine received real prison terms. This was reported by the SBU press service, UNN reports.

It is noted that the attackers were part of the occupation groups of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces. In the ranks of the invaders, they were involved in "meat assaults" on the advanced positions of the Armed Forces on the eastern and southern fronts.

All four traitors were captured during fierce fighting.The investigation established that two of the convicts are residents of the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Both voluntarily "mobilized" into the Russian army at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. There they were given automatic weapons with ammunition and assigned as riflemen.
After a short training session, one of the militants was sent to the Kharkiv sector and the other to Mariupol.
Two more convicts are residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea. They "enlisted" in the ranks of the invaders in the fall of 2022. First, they were transferred to Berdiansk to equip Russian fortifications and checkpoints. Later, the two traitors were sent to the Robotyno area to storm the defensive positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Based on the evidence, the court found the two militants guilty under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- ч. 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law);
- ч. 1 Art. 258-3 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization);
- ч. 2 of Art. 260 (participation in paramilitary or armed groups not provided for by law).
The criminal actions of two more offenders are qualified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- ч. 2 of Article 111 (high treason);
- ч. 7 of Art. 111-1 (collaboration).
Based on SBU materials, the court sentenced them to 15 years in prison.
