Six regions of Ukraine are partially without power due to Russian attacks

Parts of 6 regions of Ukraine are without power due to Russian attacks, the Energy Ministry reported on Monday, UNN writes.

Details

"As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy facilities, some consumers in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions are temporarily without electricity," the statement said.

As noted, restoration work is ongoing wherever the security situation allows. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as soon as possible.

"The introduction of restrictions is not forecast today. Today, it is advisable to shift active electricity consumption to daytime hours—from 10:00 to 16:00," the statement said.

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption is showing a downward trend. Today, August 24, as of 09:30, it was 9.2% lower than at the same time on the previous working day—Friday, August 21. The reason for the change is the decrease in heat in most regions. Another factor is the establishment of clear weather throughout Ukraine. This is contributing to the efficient operation of household solar power plants and a corresponding reduction in the volume of consumption from the grid. Yesterday, August 23, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was at the same level as the peak of the previous Sunday—August 16.
