According to the investigation, the suspect tracked the timing and flight paths of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter jets and attack helicopters defending the skies of the frontline region.
According to the SBU, the Ruscists were using this method to search for "weak points" in the region's air defense and hoped to identify the basing locations of Ukrainian aviation in order to launch a combined strike.
To gather intelligence, the perpetrator went out into the field during air raid alerts to record the coordinates and time intervals of sorties by Defense Forces aircraft and helicopters.
According to the case files, Russian special services recruited the suspect through a Telegram channel where he was seeking contacts with the Ruscists.
During his reconnaissance missions, the perpetrator drove around the area in his own car, constantly changing locations to collect intelligence information.
