The State Bureau of Investigation has served a notice of suspicion to the former head of a forestry enterprise in Vinnytsia region, who allowed 10,000 trees worth almost UAH 60 million to be illegally cut down. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation, UNN reports.

It is specified that SBI officers served a notice of suspicion to one of the former heads of the Mohyliv-Podilskyi forestry in Vinnytsia region, who illegally signed documents to cut down more than 10,000 trees.
It is known that the official illegally issued 6 felling tickets for sanitary and clear felling. At the same time, he knew that the forestry enterprise had no official grounds to carry out these works.
Illegal logging was carried out on the territory of four forestries. Over 10 thousand trees of different species were cut down on an area of almost 17 hectares. The total amount of damage caused to the state is UAH 58.5 million
He is suspected of intentionally committing actions beyond his authority, which caused grave consequences. He faces imprisonment for up to 10 years. The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances and identify other persons involved.
