The parties had a telephone conversation during which they discussed Israel's opening of additional crossing points in northern Gaza.

Biden reaffirmed his strong commitment to Israel's security following the successful defense against Iran's unprecedented missile and drone attack in early April. The officials also discussed the ongoing hostage negotiations along with an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

President Biden and Prime Minister Netanyahu also discussed increasing the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including by preparing for the opening of new crossings in the north. The President emphasized the need to maintain and enhance this progress in full coordination with humanitarian organizations
