Russia attacked Ukraine with 73 missiles and 656 drones: air defense results

Air defense shot down 40 missiles and 602 drones during a massive attack on Ukraine. The main strike targeted Kyiv, with hits recorded at 38 locations.
Russia launched 73 missiles overnight at Ukraine, including 8 "Zircons" and 33 ballistic missiles, and 656 drones; 40 missiles, including 11 ballistic ones, and 602 drones were shot down or suppressed, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Tuesday, UNN writes.

According to the AFU Air Force, on the night of June 2 (from 18:00 on June 1), the enemy launched a massive combined strike against Ukraine using attack UAVs, as well as air, sea, and land-based missiles of various types.
The main direction of the strike was Kyiv. Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava region, and other regions were also attacked
In total, the Air Force's radio-technical troops detected 729 means of air attack – 73 missiles and 656 UAVs of various types:
- 8 3M22 "Zircon" anti-ship missiles (launch areas – temporarily occupied Crimea, Kursk region, RF);
- 33 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launch areas – Bryansk, Kursk, Rostov regions, temporarily occupied Crimea);
- 27 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launch areas – Vologda region, RF);
- 5 "Kalibr" cruise missiles (launch areas – Caspian Sea waters);
- 656 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types, "Banderol" loitering munitions, and "Parody" type decoy drones (from the directions of: Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – RF, Hvardiiske, Chauda, temporarily occupied Crimea).
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units and unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defense shot down/suppressed 642 targets – 40 missiles and 602 drones of various types: 11 Iskander-M ballistic missiles; 26 Kh-101 cruise missiles; 3 "Kalibr" cruise missiles; 602 enemy UAVs of various types. According to preliminary information, as of 08:30, hits by 30 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles, and 33 attack UAVs were recorded at 38 locations, as well as the falling of downed UAVs (debris) at 15 locations
The attack is ongoing; several attack UAVs remain in Ukraine's airspace.
