Nine people killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon, Hezbollah shells northern Israel

Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed nine people, including paramedics. Hezbollah responded by shelling the north of the country amid negotiations in the US.
At least nine people have been killed in Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, while the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for rocket fire on northern Israel. This was reported by the BBC, according to UNN.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the dead include two paramedics whose ambulance was hit in the Chehour area. Six others, including four Syrians and two Palestinians, were killed in a strike near the city of Tyre. The death of a Lebanese army serviceman and the wounding of two other soldiers were also reported.
In response, the Israeli military reported intercepting a drone and two projectiles that crossed the border from Lebanon. Hezbollah later claimed responsibility for the shelling, stating it attacked a gathering of Israeli troops in the north of the country.
Negotiations continue in Washington
The new hostilities have tested the partial ceasefire reached earlier this week. According to the Lebanese side, the agreement stipulates that Israel refrain from strikes on Beirut in exchange for Hezbollah ceasing attacks on Israeli territory.
Meanwhile, Israeli and Lebanese diplomats continue negotiations in Washington mediated by the US. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the parties are trying to develop an "action plan to ensure security in Lebanon, independent of Hezbollah."
According to Lebanese authorities, at least 3,516 people have been killed in the country since the start of the war, and more than a million people have been forced to flee their homes. Israel reports the deaths of 26 of its soldiers and four civilians since the start of the conflict.
