"We are launching two new railroad routes with the European Union," Kuleba said on Telegram.

In his words:

  • Starting December 15, the route from Kyiv to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, will be provided by train #27/28 Kyiv - Chop - Kyiv and the new train of the Slovak Railways #617/961 Chop - Bratislava - Chop.

"The international connection between the capitals of Ukraine and Slovakia aims to connect Kyiv, Lviv, and Mukachevo with Bratislava and other major cities in neighboring Slovakia (Kosice, Žilina, Trnava, Trencin, Poprad). It also opens up a wide range of travel options to most cities in the Czech Republic, including Prague," Kuleba said.

According to the vice prime minister, the transfer between trains has been agreed upon, and the purchase of two tickets will be possible with one click in the mobile application and on the official website of Ukrzaliznytsia.

  • On December 15, train #9/10 will also start running from Kyiv to Budapest , a major rail and air hub.

"The schedule of this train is designed so that passengers can also conveniently transfer to trains in the direction of Vienna (less than three hours of travel), Salzburg, Munich, Innsbruck and Zurich. The waiting time between trains will not exceed two hours. Convenient transfers to trains to Romania, Slovenia and other European countries have also been taken into account," Kuleba said.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, there will be even more trains to the Polish capital Warsaw.

"Ukrzaliznytsia appoints a second pair of trains No. 765/766 - 865/866 on the route Warsaw - Rava-Ruska - Lviv and adds a connection to Chernivtsi. A train of the Polish railroad PKP Intercity will run between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska; a Ukrainian-made diesel train DPKr-3 will run on the route Rava-Ruska - Lviv - Chernivtsi," the company said.

So from now on, as noted, modern comfortable trains will be used on the route.

"The addition of seats on this route will significantly expand the geography of railway communication between the western regions of Ukraine and Warsaw, not only for Lviv, but also for Ternopil, Chortkiv, Zalishchyky, Chernivtsi, through which train No. 865/866 Chernivtsi - Rava-Ruska will run after the introduction of the new schedule," UZ said.

As in the previous schedule, according to Ukrzaliznytsia, trains #767/768 - 867/868 will run on the route Warsaw - Rava-Ruska - Lviv - Kolomyia.
