Electricity consumption remains high due to lower temperatures. Due to weather conditions, two settlements in Kyiv region are without power, and energy is imported from five countries.

Electricity consumption remains at a consistently high level, which is in line with seasonal indicators, and the need for economical consumption remains. Due to bad weather , there are power outages in Kyiv region. This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo on Tuesday, UNN reports.

Consumption

Consumption is reported to be at a steadily high level, in line with seasonal indicators. Today, December 24, as of 9:30 a.m., its level was 1.7% lower than at the same time on the previous day, Monday.

Yesterday, December 23, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the morning. It was 3.7% higher than the maximum of the previous business day, on Friday, December 20. This was explained by a drop in air temperature in most regions compared to the end of last week.

"As the Ukrainian power system continues to recover from twelve massive Russian attacks since the beginning of this year, it remains under a significant power shortage. Therefore, the need for economical electricity consumption remains," the statement said.

Ukrainians were urged not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time from 8:00 to 20:00.

Consequences of bad weather

"As of this morning, two settlements in Kyiv region are without electricity due to unfavorable weather conditions. Repair crews of the regional power company are working to restore power to consumers as soon as possible," the company said.

Import

It will be supplied throughout the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova. The total volume is 10,231 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 1,140 MW in some hours, which is more than the previous day.
