U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed hope that the NATO summit in Washington this summer will focus on a roadmap for Ukraine's accession to the Alliance. He said this during a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Sejourne, UNN reports.
Blinken said he had discussed the NATO summit and Ukraine's membership with French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne. The topic will be discussed in more detail in the coming days in Brussels during a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
"For us, the issue is to have a good and clear roadmap to get there. I believe that the NATO Summit on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Alliance will be focused and concrete on how we can develop this roadmap, this bridge that will allow Ukraine to become a NATO member," Blinken said.
