Banks have passed the peak of credit losses - NBU

Ukrainian banks have passed the peak of credit losses and this year formed minimal new reserves, according to Kateryna Rozhkova, First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine. Banks also increased lending to businesses and households.

The peak of credit losses by Ukrainian banks has already passed. В this year, banks almost did not make provisions for credit losses. This was reported by First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kateryna Rozhkova during the the presentation of the financial stability report, UNN correspondent reports.

Speaking about the quality of the loan portfolio and asset losses, we see that the peak of credit losses has already passed. This year, banks almost did not make any provisions for credit losses, and in some cases even reformed provisions. This was facilitated by the approaches and restructuring steps that banks took to help their clients restore their solvency
