Later, Wizz Air issued a statement clarifying that their recruitment campaign "was not intended to create the impression of an (immediate) resumption of flights to or from Ukraine."

"We at Wizz Air have taken into account the feedback received regarding our recent recruitment campaign and would like to provide clarification.

The sole purpose of this campaign was to promote career opportunities at Wizz Air for Ukrainian citizens, as we continue to strive to support the development of Ukrainian civil aviation. The campaign was in no way intended to create the impression of an (immediate) resumption of flights to or from Ukraine.

Currently, due to the ongoing war and closed airspace, we cannot resume operations in Ukraine. At the same time, Wizz Air remains committed to the Ukrainian market and looks forward to returning as soon as possible. We sincerely hope for a speedy end to the war and that we will be able to resume flights and reconnect Ukraine with the rest of Europe. To make this possible, we need to carry out preparatory work in advance, involving Ukrainian specialists and supporting the development of the local economy. We aim to be one of the first airlines to return to Ukraine as soon as circumstances permit, and to offer numerous travel opportunities for both Ukrainians and foreigners.

We sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings that our campaign may have caused. All materials have already been removed from our platforms. We will review their content to ensure the clearest possible communication in the future and avoid similar situations," Wizz Air said in an official comment.
