Satellite city of ZNPP
Enerhodar is a city in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, located on the left bank of the former Kakhovka Reservoir of the Dnipro River. Its territory is 63.5 km², and its population as of early 2022 was approximately 52,237 people. The city was founded on June 12, 1970, as a settlement for the builders of the Zaporizhzhia State District Power Plant (DRES), and later became a satellite city of Europe's largest nuclear power plant. Enerhodar is one of the youngest cities in Ukraine, its development closely linked to the energy sector. Before the temporary occupation, the city had significant scientific, intellectual, and investment potential, providing a substantial portion of the country's electricity.
