The protesters expect to be joined by the heads of the foreign affairs committees of the parliaments of eight EU countries.
MEPs from Germany, Finland, Sweden, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland arrived in Tbilisi to discuss the past elections, reports of massive violations, the progress of investigations, and the current situation. The ruling party called the visit biased and refused to meet with the MEPs.
The delegation met with the President of Georgia and representatives of the opposition. In the morning, civil society activists met the EU deputies near the presidential residence.
The chairman of the Lithuanian Seimas Foreign Relations Committee, Žygimantas Pavilėnis, said that the Georgian government "fails the exam" when talking about Georgia's prospects of joining the European Union. According to him, the "Georgian Dream is lying" by claiming that it can guarantee Georgia's accession to the EU.
