Volodymyr Nosov, founder of the WhiteBIT crypto exchange, received a unique award made of limestone and sand from UNITED24 signed by Zelenskyy for his significant donations totaling more than 415 million hryvnias to support Ukraine during the war.
The founder of WhiteBIT, a crypto exchange with Ukrainian roots, Volodymyr Nosov received a letter of thanks from Ukraine's official fundraising platform UNITED24 signed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy for supporting Ukraine at this crucial time, UNN reports.
The unique award is made of limestone extracted from the Osokorivsky quarry and sand from the Oleshky desert, which are two symbols of the Kherson region. Volodymyr Nosov and the WhiteBIT cryptocurrency exchange are active donors to the UNITED24 fundraising. In particular, in June 2023, after the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, Volodymyr Nosov and the WhiteBIT cryptocurrency exchange supported a humanitarian mission in the Kherson region and made one of the largest donations of UAH 10 million to the UNITED24 fundraiser to help rescuers.
"I believe that technology should serve people. That the crypto world should use the power of innovation to help. That every responsible business with Ukrainian roots should be included in the reality. So, let's continue!" Nosov wrote on his social media.
In May 2022, the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy connected the cryptocurrency solution Whitepay, which is part of the WhiteBIT ecosystem, to ensure fast acceptance of donations in cryptocurrency. As a result, in the first months of the full-scale invasion, hundreds of thousands of dollars were quickly raised from around the world to support Ukraine. The acknowledgment from UNITED24 is not the first for WhiteBIT. Recently, the company's CEO Volodymyr Nosov received a commendation from the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk "for his significant personal contribution to the establishment and strengthening of the state security of Ukraine." Nosov was also awarded the medal "For the Defense of Kharkiv", a commendation from the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kirill Budanov "For assistance and cooperation in providing assistance to the Ukrainian army" and the award "For assistance to the army" from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
According to publicly available data, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Volodymyr Nosov and the WhiteBIT crypto exchange have donated more than UAH 415 million of their own funds, dozens of military vehicles, and tens of thousands of food packages to help Ukrainians and the Armed Forces.
Vladimir Nosov is an active participant in charity auctions. In May 2022, he bought the Eurovision 2022 crystal microphone from the Kalush Orchestra for $900,000, and in November 2022, he bought a 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow driven by Freddie Mercury for £250,000. In December 2023, at a charity auction organized by Forbes Ukraine, Nosov purchased the drums of the Boombox band for $400,000. The proceeds from the auction went to help Ukraine: the needs of the army, the creation of a modern rehabilitation and prosthetics center Superhumans, and the purchase of powerful drones.
