The Government has extended compensation periods for hosting IDPs and expanded housing programs

The Cabinet of Ministers has increased the compensation period for hosting IDPs without documents to 90 days. 833 million UAH has been allocated for housing for children's homes in 2026.

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a series of decisions concerning internally displaced persons and family-type children's homes. In particular, the government extended the period for providing compensation for hosting displaced persons and established the procedure for providing housing to family-type children's homes. This was reported by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko, according to UNN.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Government has increased the period for providing compensation to facilities for hosting internally displaced persons who lost their documents due to the war from 60 to 90 days.
"We are expanding the possibilities for confirming the fact of destruction or damage to housing. Now, a remote inspection report can be used for this purpose.
The compensation system will become more transparent: information on the granting of compensation, reasons for refusal, calculation of its amount, and accrued payments will be visible in the electronic cabinet of the Pension Fund," stated Yuliia Svyrydenko.
In addition, the Government adopted a decision regarding the provision of housing for family-type children's homes. According to Yuliia Svyrydenko, the procedure and conditions for providing subventions from the state budget have already been determined.
"Priority will be given to families who evacuated due to the war, lost their homes, or are returning to Ukraine from abroad.
The 2026 State Budget provides 833 million UAH for providing housing to family-type children's homes," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
