According to the agency, the US expanded strikes on Iran, attacking bridges, energy facilities, and destroying a tower in one of Iran's key ports. It is noted that this was a continuation of US President Donald Trump's policy of increasing pressure on Tehran to weaken its control over the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
In response, Iran launched missile strikes on US allies in the region, including Qatar and Kuwait. In Kuwait, one of the seawater desalination plants was damaged as a result of the attack.
The conflict has been ongoing for more than four months
According to the Associated Press, the fighting is increasingly concentrating around the Strait of Hormuz, and an attempt at a temporary ceasefire did not lead to de-escalation.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that American forces are conducting operations for the seventh consecutive night aimed at weakening Iran's military capabilities.
Iranian officials say that dozens of people have been killed and hundreds more wounded as a result of the latest US strikes. At the same time, the US military reported an increase in the number of wounded among its servicemen.
