Global car production increased by 10%

Global car production grew by 10% to 66.9 million units, with China becoming the largest producer with over 21 million vehicles. Passenger cars accounted for the majority of production, with almost 48 million units.
According to the World Organization of Automobile Manufacturers (OICA), global vehicle production amounted to 66,930,442 units in the first three quarters of 2023, UNN reports .

It is noted that compared to last year, car production increased by 10%.

China remains the world's largest automaker, with more than 21 million vehicles produced in the first nine months of the year, up 7% from the same period in 2022
The second place went to the United States (+9), which produced more than 8.1 million vehicles.
Instead, Japan (+16) ranks third with almost 6.6 million units of motor vehicles produced.
The top five also included: India (+8%) - 4.5 million units and South Korea (+17%) - 3.2 million units.

UkrAvtoprom noted that the largest share of this number belongs to passenger cars, of which 47,962,217 units were produced. Also produced:
- 15,992,426 light commercial vehicles;
- 2,754,941 large trucks;
- 220,858 buses.
