Generators and other support from partners help to survive the electricity shortage, but do not save the energy system - Kudrytskyi

Former head of "Ukrenergo" Volodymyr Kudrytskyi stated that generators from partners are a temporary solution. They support the operation of invincibility points, but do not solve the problem of electricity shortage.

Emergency aid from international partners in the form of generators helps maintain the operation of invincibility points and critical infrastructure facilities, but it does not solve the problem of electricity shortage in the energy system as a whole. This was stated by former head of "Ukrenergo" Volodymyr Kudrytskyi in an interview with the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, reports UNN.

According to him, such emergency support is a temporary solution until the weather warms up and solar power plants resume operation in the spring.
This is, in essence, emergency aid from our partners - various types of generators for invincibility points and critical infrastructure. This will not help the energy system, but it will allow us to survive the deficit until it gets warmer in March and solar power plants start working
At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine needs systemic solutions for the next year.
We need to protect what can be protected, and deploy distributed generation many times more intensively. These are containerized gas stations that can be placed by the thousands across the country, as well as wind, solar power plants and energy storage systems
According to Kudrytskyi, such an energy mix should gradually replace the outdated Soviet-era generation that Russia is destroying with shelling.
Recall
Former chairman of the board of NEC "Ukrenergo" Volodymyr Kudrytskyi stated about the constant electricity deficit in Ukraine. The shortage is compensated by imports or increased operation of hydroelectric power plants.
