General Staff updates map: 184 battles, up to a third in Pokrovsk direction

Over the past day, 184 combat engagements took place at the front, almost a third of which were in the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy also intensified its activity in the Oleksandrivka and Kostiantynivka directions, launching missile and air strikes.
Almost a third of the 184 battles on the front line yesterday took place in the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy was also more active in the Oleksandrivka and Kostiantynivka directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its morning summary on October 16, showing a map of hostilities, writes UNN.
In total, 184 combat engagements were recorded yesterday.
The enemy launched one missile strike with two missiles and 87 air strikes, dropping 171 guided bombs, on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements. In addition, they carried out 4,979 shellings, more than a hundred of which were from multiple rocket launchers, and used 5,595 kamikaze drones for attacks.
"Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit six areas of concentration of personnel and two command posts of the Russian invaders," the report says.
Situation by directions
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the enemy launched nine air strikes, dropped 18 guided bombs, and carried out 186 shellings, including ten from multiple rocket launchers.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, 17 combat engagements took place yesterday near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Tykhe, Kamianka, Kutkivka, and in the direction of Okhrimivka, Odrada, and Bologivka.
In the Kupyansk direction, six enemy attacks took place yesterday. The Defense Forces repelled enemy assault actions in the areas of the settlements of Stepova Novoselivka and Petropavlivka. Counter-sabotage measures are ongoing in the city of Kupyansk and its surroundings - our soldiers detect enemy infantry groups, block their advance, and destroy them.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked seven times, trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Hrekivka, Kolodiazi, Novoselivka, and Derylove.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled ten enemy attacks yesterday. Occupying units tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Serebrianka, Yampil, Dronivka, Vyyimka, and Fedorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, one combat engagement was recorded - the enemy tried to advance in the direction of Predtechyne.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 25 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bila Hora, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, Oleksandro-Kalynove, and Rusyn-Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 56 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Myroliubivka, Novoekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Chunishyne, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Horikhove, and Filiia.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 30 enemy attacks near the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Ivanivka, Oleksandrogard, Sichneve, Sosnivka, Oleksiivka, Novomykolaivka, Novohryhorivka, Malynivka, and Poltavka.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked five times, trying to operate in the areas of the settlements of Kamianske, Plavni, and Stepove.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks by the occupiers.
