Former Deputy Minister of Communities Development Lozynskyi received a new notice of suspicion

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has served a new notice of suspicion to the former Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure in a case involving millions in losses during the provision of alternative sources of light, heat, and water supply to the population during the winter period. This was reported by the SAPO press service, according to UNN.

According to UNN sources, the individual in question is Vasyl Lozynskyi.

"Under the procedural guidance of a SAPO prosecutor, NABU detectives served a new notice of suspicion to the former Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine and an official of a state enterprise," the statement reads.

It is reported that the actions of former Deputy Minister Lozynskyi are qualified under Part 4 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the director of the state enterprise under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Abuse of power or official position - the sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with a fine of five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens).

The SAPO reported that in the summer of 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated funds to the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine to provide the population with alternative sources of light, heat, and water supply during the winter period.

"Within the framework of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the Deputy Minister induced an official of a state enterprise to conclude an agreement with a predetermined supplier. In exchange, he guaranteed to transfer him from the position of deputy to the position of director of this state company. It should be noted that the supply of equipment was to take place at a price that exceeded the market price by 30%. As a result, the state suffered millions in losses," the SAPO reported.

The prosecutor's office also recalled that another case involving charges against Lozynskyi, his confidant, and other accomplices is currently being considered by the HACC. They were caught requesting and receiving 400,000 USD in unlawful benefits.

Law enforcement officers detained the acting Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Vasyl Lozynskyi due to the embezzlement of budget funds. As reported on the official page of the Ministry of Infrastructure, there was an order to prepare documents for the official's dismissal.

The SAPO reported that NABU detectives caught the Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Vasyl Lozynskyi receiving a 400,000 USD bribe for facilitating the conclusion of contracts for the purchase of equipment and machinery at inflated prices. The issue of serving a notice of suspicion is currently being decided.

The SAPO completed the investigation into the case of former Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Vasyl Lozynskyi regarding the receipt of 400,000 dollars in unlawful benefits.
