President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union for new sanctions against Russian entities and individuals involved in the deportation and Russification of Ukrainian children. The Head of State announced this in a statement, UNN reports.
Britain, Canada, and the EU introduced new sanctions
According to Zelenskyy, 85 individuals and legal entities fell under the UK sanctions.
These are those involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children, the imposition of Russian ideology on them, Russification and militarization, as well as in Russian propaganda operations
Canada, according to the Head of State, introduced sanctions against another 23 individuals and five organizations involved in the illegal transfer of Ukrainian children.
They are responsible for the illegal deportation and forced displacement of our children, including their ideological indoctrination and militarization
The EU punished those involved in the "re-education" of Ukrainian children
Separately, the President commented on the new sanctions package of the European Union.
According to him, the restrictions targeted 16 individuals and seven organizations that participated in the illegal removal of Ukrainian children to Russia.
These are those who "reprogram" the identity of Ukrainian children, helping them to hate their homeland and one day take up arms to fight against Ukraine
Ukraine calls for continued pressure on Russia
The President thanked the partners for their principled position and emphasized that sanctions pressure on Russia must continue.
According to Zelenskyy, international partners took into account a number of Ukraine's proposals, including the provisions of the Ukrainian sanctions package adopted several weeks ago.
We must continue to work together to return all Ukrainian children home and to ensure that everyone behind these crimes is held accountable
