The US Senate did not support a resolution that would have ended the war with Iran and withdrawn American troops until Congress authorized further action. This is reported by the Associated Press, writes UNN.

The document, initiated by Democrats, was supported by 47 senators, while 52 opposed it. The Republican Party, which has a majority in the Senate, did not support this initiative.
Democrats state that the war with Iran is illegal and unjustified. They also emphasized that they would continue to initiate votes on this issue until the conflict ends.
As the agency notes, this is the fourth time in 2026 that the Senate has effectively refused to limit the president's military powers, leaving decisions on further actions to the Donald Trump administration.
