UNICEF allocates $91 million to support Ukrainian education

The Ministry of Education and UNICEF have signed a plan to finance educational projects for 2026. The funds will be used to educate one million children and support teachers.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and UNICEF have signed an Annual Work Plan for 2026, which provides for the financing of educational projects totaling over $91 million. This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Education, writes UNN.

The document was signed by Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi and the newly appointed Head of the UNICEF Representative Office in Ukraine, Ann-Claire Dufay. This initiative is part of a joint cooperation program for 2025–2029.
The funds will be directed to providing formal and non-formal education to approximately 1 million children.
The cooperation covers three key priorities: expanding access to quality preschool education in accordance with the new European integration law, restoring learning in a safe and inclusive environment for schoolchildren with psychosocial support, and strengthening the career guidance system for adolescents.
Lisovyi emphasized that this year, attention will be paid to the energy independence of educational institutions, teacher support, and overcoming educational losses at the community level.
