The Commission on Technogenic and Ecological Safety and Emergency Situations extended the ban on visiting places of mass recreation on water bodies in several regions of Ukraine due to martial law.

In Ukraine the decision was made to extend the ban on mass recreation on water bodies in 7 regions - Donetsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Kherson, and in general, regional administrations are recommended to identify and properly equip places for such recreation. This decision of the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency of March 13 was reported by the government, UNN writes.

The Commission reviewed the state of preparation of recreational facilities on Ukrainian water bodies for receiving vacationers.

According to the State Emergency Service, the main causes of deaths on the water are alcohol (drug) intoxication, violation of the rules of behavior on the water, during fishing, and accidents.

Based on the report and taking into account the martial law, the Commission reportedly "decided to extend the ban on visiting places of mass recreation on water bodies in Donetsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

"In general, among other things, the regional and Kyiv city military (state) administrations are recommended to identify places of mass recreation on water bodies and oblige the managers of such places to equip them in accordance with the Rules for the Protection of Human Life on Water Bodies of Ukraine," the government said.
