Switzerland will host a two-day high-level peace conference on Ukraine on June 15-16, aimed at creating "a framework conducive to achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace in Ukraine.
Switzerland will hold a two-day high-level peace conference on Ukraine on June 15 and 16. Russia has made it clear that it will not participate in this initiative. This is reported by The Guardian with reference to the Federal Council of the country, UNN reports.
There is now sufficient international support for a high-level conference to launch the peace process
The conference will take place on June 15-16 at the Burgenstock resort in the canton of Nidwalden, near the city of Lucerne. According to the statement, its goal will be to "create a framework conducive to achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace in Ukraine," as well as "a concrete roadmap for Russia's participation in the peace process.
Russian officials have also reportedly said they will not participate in the talks in Switzerland, a country they believe has abandoned its neutrality in the war.
The Swiss authorities have not yet disclosed the full list of participants in the summit.

In January, Swiss authorities announced that they would host a peace summit at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Since then, Switzerland has held talks with the EU, G7 member states, and countries such as China and India to secure their support.
