From April 11, patrol officers will install TruCAM devices on 25 new sections of roads and streets in populated areas of Ukraine. This was reported by the Patrol Police of Ukraine, writes UNN.
Details
The agency specified that the places of use are determined taking into account the state of accidents, on accident-prone areas and in places of concentration of traffic accidents caused by speeding.
Taking into account the martial law and the analysis of accidents:
- 25 new sections have been added;
- changes have been made to 10 existing sections.
Now a total of 160 TruCAM devices will operate on the roads of Ukraine. Speed will be measured on 338 road sections.
Addendum
TruCAMs are mainly used in the same areas where automatic violation recording cameras are already installed. This provides higher efficiency in monitoring compliance with the speed limit by combining measurement methods.

In regions where active hostilities are ongoing (including Donetsk and Luhansk regions), devices are temporarily not used. Instead, in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions, TruCAM is used in certain safe areas.
Road signs warning of photo and video recording are installed in TruCAM usage locations. Patrol police vehicles with blue flashing beacons on will be standing in a visible place.
Reminder
The government has allowed mopeds and motorcycles (without a side trailer) to move in the lane for public transport vehicles. This will help reduce traffic jams and improve traffic safety.
