The Polish Foreign Minister organizes a meeting in the Weimar+ format to discuss assistance to Ukraine. The meeting will discuss countering Russia's attempts to impose its vision of the outcome of the war.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski is convening a meeting on Ukraine tomorrow in Warsaw. He noted that "we need to think and discuss contingencies" because Putin still intends to impose his vision of the outcome of the war on Ukraine, UNN reports with reference to Radio Liberty.

"This is a meeting in the Weimar+ format. As you know, the Weimar Triangle is a formula for cooperation between Poland, Germany and France. But since times are demanding and problems are dramatic, we have also invited other countries and a future high representative. My friend Andriy Sybiga (Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine - ed.) has also been invited to the meeting, and I hope he will be able to attend. If not, I will inform him of the results," Sikorsky said.

The Polish foreign minister emphasized that the situation in Ukraine is quite complicated and mentioned Russia's attempts to destroy Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

"Putin is doing this to show that he still intends to impose his decision on Ukraine. He is trying to strengthen his position by causing a wave of refugees from Ukraine to the EU. We need to think and discuss contingencies on what to do to help Ukraine strengthen its position in the negotiations if this happens," Sikorsky summarized.

Poland's top official also welcomed the U.S. administration's likely decision to allow Ukraine to launch long-range strikes on Russian territory.

"Ukraine is a victim of aggression under international law, the UN Charter, and the decisions of the UN General Assembly. We are not only obliged to condemn the aggressor, we are also obliged to take countermeasures against the aggressor and bring it back to compliance with international law," Sikorsky said.
