EU provides Ukraine with €1.4 billion from proceeds of frozen Russian assets

The European Commission allocates €1.4 billion to Ukraine, obtained from frozen Russian assets, in response to Russia's massive attack. Prime Minister Koretskyi said that the funds will go toward the country's defense and resilience.
The EU allocates €1.4 billion to Ukraine from proceeds generated by frozen Russian assets in response to another massive attack by the Russian Federation, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced, and Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi confirmed on social media, UNN reports.
We are waking up once again to news of horrific crimes committed by Russia through its air attacks on Ukraine. Russia must pay for the destruction it has caused. And we are using the funds generated by immobilized Russian assets to make sure of this. We are providing Ukraine with another €1.4 billion from these funds. This will support Ukraine’s continued resistance to Russia’s illegal war
