Details

Healey met with President Zelenskyy and his counterpart, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Following the meeting, he assured that the UK would provide a new package of support to the country, including more artillery pieces, a quarter of a million rounds of ammunition, and nearly 100 Brimstone precision-guided missiles.

It is noted that after taking office, the Minister of Defense immediately asked for additional support for Ukraine. In particular, the new package includes:

  • A quarter of a million rounds of 50-caliber ammunition
  • 90 Brimstone anti-armor missiles
  • 50 small military boats to support river and coastal operations
  • 40 demining vehicles
  • 10 AS-90 artillery pieces
  • 61 bulldozers to assist in the construction of defensive positions
  • Support for previously donated AS-90s, including 32 new barrels and critical spare parts to help Ukraine produce an additional 60,000 155mm rounds

John Healey also instructed officials to ensure that the military aid package promised in April is expedited and delivered to Ukraine in full within the next 100 days.
