"Prices for carrots in Ukraine, which began to rise in early December, continue to rise this week," analysts say.

At the same time, the pace of trading in this segment has also continued to grow over the past two weeks.

According to the daily monitoring of the project, since the end of last week, carrots in Ukraine have risen in price by an average of 11%, and today producers are ready to ship these products at a price of 20-28 UAH/kg ($0.48-0.67/kg), depending on quality, region, and other terms of the transaction.

According to key market players, the rise in prices is being driven by a marked increase in trading activity in the root crop segment. At the same time, most farms have suspended sales of high quality carrots in anticipation of even higher prices and have put the bulk of their harvest into storage. They offer only surplus crops for sale, which results in a somewhat limited supply of carrots on the market.

It is noted that "now the price of quality carrots in Ukraine is already 83% higher on average than a year ago." At the same time, some producers plan to continue raising prices if the current sales rate is maintained, analysts say.
