Parliament adopts law on compensation for property destroyed in the occupied territories

The Verkhovna Rada has passed a law on compensation for destroyed property in the occupied territories. The owners will be able to receive compensation without providing photo and video evidence of the destruction, as well as to relinquish ownership in favor of the state.
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a draft law according to which IDPs will be able to receive compensation for destroyed property located in the occupied territory. This was announced on Thursday by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak in Telegram, UNN reports .

According to the draft law, citizens can receive compensation for destroyed or damaged property located in the territories of active hostilities or temporarily occupied territories.
The owner of such property may apply for compensation without providing photo and video materials of the property before/after destruction/damage.
In this case, no physical inspection of real estate is carried out. The owner of such property has the right to relinquish ownership of such property in favor of the state.
This Law shall enter into force one month after its publication, except for the clause on the submission of an application by the subject of compensation, which shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
