The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, emphasized the need to make every effort to reliably protect cities and towns, critical infrastructure and production, as well as military and civilian facilities from air attacks by the Russian occupiers. He stated this during a meeting on increasing the capabilities of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in countering Russian strike UAVs, UNN reports.

As the Commander-in-Chief noted, the system of so-called "small air defense" continues to strengthen and is already demonstrating high efficiency. He added that during April 2024, more than 2,100 enemy air targets were destroyed.
Syrskyi paid special attention to increasing the efficiency of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's air defense, particularly at the third echelon. He added that the Army Aviation of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plays an important role in countering Russian drones.
It is increasing its technical capabilities and efficiency: in April, our helicopter pilots destroyed more than 500 enemy UAVs. Their contribution to the fight against "Shaheds" is very significant
