General Staff confirms strike on sanctioned tanker Marquise by naval drones

The Ukrainian Navy struck the tanker Marquise with two kamikaze drones near Tuapse. The sanctioned vessel was used for the illegal transportation of petroleum products.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the sanctioned tanker Marquise, UNN reports.

"This morning, a unit of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using two kamikaze USVs, struck the sanctioned vessel 'MARQUISE' (tanker, flag of Cameroon, without cargo, deadweight over 37,000 tons). At the time of the strike, the vessel was adrift, approximately 210 km southeast of the city of Tuapse (RF) without an AIS signal, likely awaiting loading at sea from another vessel," the General Staff reported.
As noted by the General Staff, "the strike was carried out on the stern section, in the area of the propeller-rudder group and the engine room."
The extent of the damage is being clarified.

The tanker Marquise is reportedly under sanctions by Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Canada, and was used by the enemy for the illegal transportation of petroleum products.
