The European Commission presented the 21st sanctions package against the Russian Federation, including measures regarding energy and banks. The restrictions apply to 30 vessels of the shadow fleet and 31 banks.
The European Commission has officially presented the 21st package of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation, announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on June 9, UNN reports.

As noted by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Europe Editor Rikard Jozwiak, the new EU sanctions package targets:
- 30 shadow fleet vessels;
- the sale of LNG tankers;
- 31 banks with a ban on transactions;
- export restrictions on alloys and metals for the aerospace industry;
- an import ban on various automotive parts;
- restrictions on fish products, including a ban on cod;
- an entry ban for everyone who fought on the side of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The main feature of the new restrictions is not individual bans, but the EU's active steps in transitioning from sanctions against individuals to systemic pressure on the key revenue sources of the aggressor state.
